Alameda Research CEO (co-CEO from Oct 2021, sole CEO from Aug 2022) and Sam Bankman-Fried's on-and-off partner. Stanford math graduate who discovered effective altruism through an 80,000 Hours-style earn-to-give logic and joined Alameda from Jane Street. Pleaded guilty in Dec 2022 to seven counts (wire fraud, securities and commodities fraud conspiracies, money laundering), became the government's star cooperating witness against SBF, and was sentenced Sept 2024 to two years in prison plus $11B forfeiture. Her testimony — that SBF 'directed me' to take ~$14B in FTX customer funds — was the spine of the prosecution.
